The Afghan Women’s Organization (afghanwomen.org) is a provincially incorporated not-for-profit corporation that has existed for over thirty years. The AWO provides settlement and integration services to all newcomers, including women and their families who have experienced war and persecution. Pursuant to a Memorandum of Understanding, the AWO has agreed to accept the monies raised and hold and account for the funds on the conditions set out in the Memorandum of Understanding. A committee has been established for purposes of making recommendations for disbursement of funds based on identified needs. Disbursements will be consistent with the charitable vision, mission and values of AWO.
